COVID PROTOCOL
REGISTRATION AND DIRECTIONS FOR MUSD STUDENTS & FAMILIES
Thank you in advance for arriving at the test site 5 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. Many staff members have made appointments around their work schedules, so when others arrive too early or too late, it impacts our employees’ ability to get to their job locations on time.
We appreciate you playing it safe and keeping your child home if they are experiencing COVID symptoms or they are ill. If your child is out with COVID symptoms, they need a negative test to return, in addition to being symptom free for 24 hours.
I have also attached a flow sheet if your child is exposed to someone who tests positive for COVID. In the chart, you will want to focus on the right hand side since our students are not fully vaccinated. The chart includes scenarios if kids have a family member who tests positive, which would require them to quarantine for 10 days. If a student is out on quarantine, we place them on short term independent study during that time so they will continue to have access to work.
Students and staff who are absent from school due to symptoms of COVD-19 may not return for in-person instruction until they have met CDPH criteria to return to school for those with symptoms:
- At least 24 hours have passed since resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications; and
- Other symptoms have improved; and
- They have a negative test for SARS-CoV-2, OR a healthcare provider has provided documentation that the symptoms are typical of their underlying chronic condition (e.g., allergies or asthma) OR a healthcare provider has confirmed an alternative named diagnosis (e.g., Streptococcal pharyngitis, Coxsackie virus), OR at least 10 days have passed since symptom onset.
- Email COVID test results to, Nurse Lucy at: lulopez@martinez.k12.ca.us or Mrs. Greenwood at lgreenwood@martinezusd.net to be cleared to return to school.
