Principal's Message

Welcome to Morello Park Where Great Minds Grow!

Greetings Morello Families,

It’s August 1st and I am so thrilled to be joining your Morello Park team! Martinez Unified School District has an extraordinary reputation.  Over the past few years, I have tracked your district and attended trainings they have offered on Common Core. Your district has been on the cutting edge of many initiatives so it is with great pleasure that I will be serving as your principal. I am looking forward to meeting you and your children. Speaking on that point of getting to know one another, I thought you may like to know a little bit about of my educational journey before your return to school:

  • My journey began as a child, dreaming of becoming a teacher. I was one of those students who loved going to school and my teachers were very important to me.
  • I received my degree and credentials from San Jose State University and National University in Silicon Valley.
  • Sunnyvale School District (14 years): Teaching in the Sunnyvale School District included elementary and middle school. Also, during that time, I was a literacy, math and science trainer and I supervised special education programs for Pre-K at three sites.  More schooling in my journey led me to a position of vice principal at an elementary school followed by a principal position some years later.
  • Brentwood: In 2007, I accepted a position of principal at Garin Elementary and our family moved to Brentwood where I happily served my community for 9 years. In the wonderful years at Garin, I led our team in creating sustainable professional learning communities. Together we started  Response to Intervention programs, counseling programs, character education programs, positive behavior support systems and enhanced student leadership opportunities . Students made tremendous strides academically, socially and emotionally.
  • Martinez: The offer of a new challenge and the opportunity to grow as a leading learner is very exciting. I have heard such great things about Morello Park. I am thrilled to become an Eagle and join your team of passionate educators and families. J

Again, I look forward to getting to know your children. Together, we can be that supportive team to enhance and maximize your child’s education. We can make this fresh school year one to be remembered.  Enjoy the rest of your summer break and we will see you in a few weeks!

Warmly,

Stacy Joslin, Principal
