There are three book clubs: The Eaglets (Grades K-1), The Tree Toppers (Grades 2-3), and the Flying Eagles (Grades 4-5). Each book club enjoys a unique format of activities for their grade level. All book clubs are held in the library from 6:30-7:30pm. At the end of the year, everyone who attended at least one book club meeting gets invited to the End-of-the-Year Book Club Pizza Party Extravaganza on May 30th!

Our Eagle Reading Program Is Awesome!

The MPE PTA Eagle Reading Program is a voluntary program for our students that encourages pleasure reading. To participate in this free program, our students simply keep track of their daily reading on our Eagle Reading Calendars and turn them into their teacher! Once they have recorded their minutes for each day of the month, they add their minutes up and return their completed calendar to their teacher during the first week of the new month. If they are in Kindergarten through 2nd grade and they have read 500 minutes, then they have earned a free book! If they are in 3rd grade through 5th grade and they have read 750 minutes, then they have also earned a free book! Any minutes over, will be applied to their next month's total...reading roll over minutes, if you will!

If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact Veronica Montes at, Ali Guererro at

If you would like a copy of the MPE PTA Eagle Reading Calendar, please click on the applicable monthly calendar below.

Harvest of the Month, or HOTM to our MPE Community, is a unique program offered at MPE where MPE Community volunteers come into the classroom and help teach our the children about healthy eating choices. Every month, a new vegetable or fruit is introduced to the children and each child is offered a "taste" of the yummy, healthy food. This program is absolutely amazing! Be sure to talk to your children about what they are learning and tasting! If you would like to volunteer, please contact Tina Dodds at

Fine Arts Mini-Experience

FAME is an art and music program designed to familiarize students with well-known artists, composers, and their works. The content is presented by focusing on specific art and music elements as parts of a composition and by providing a connection, be it life experiences or artistic similarities of featured artists, to which contemporary young people may relate.FAME offers students criteria for viewing a painting and listening to a piece of music. This guidance provides reinforcement in developing their skills as analytical spectators who can ultimately discern shades of quality and familiarizes them with some of the great artists in history.

Our PTA has purchased the FAME 5 year program. All lessons are taught at school during “music prep” for students grade 1-5.

Our FAME lessons are taught by a wonderful team of enthusiastic parent volunteers (referred to as docents). Our docents attend pre-lesson meetings to review and prepare for the art and music portions and the accompanying hands on activity – no prior knowledge of or talent with art or music is necessary!

If you are (or know anyone who may be) interested in joining this exceptional program and being a part of your children's lives at the school (repeat: no art or music talent or experience necessary...just enthusiasm!), please contact Jenny Cooper

Coffee With the Principal

Coffee with the Principal!

OUR NEXT COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPAL WILL BE April 26, 2019 in the Multi Use Room!

It's become a welcome tradition at MPE that our families are given the opportunity to sit and talk with our principal about different things going on at the school once a month over coffee. This year is no different. Mrs. Joslin is happy to carry on this tradition with our MPE families and hopes to sit and share coffee with everyone in the MUR. Everyone is welcome, even the kiddos! For more information, please email Sarah Metz at  or Mrs. Joslin at

Become an MPE PTA Member Today!

The overall purpose of PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to support all children. This is an incredible organization that deserves your support. Our PTA is responsible for funding so many incredible programs at the school. These programs include fun events for our students like the Harvest of the Month, Parent/Child Book Clubs, school assemblies, FAME and our amazing Eagle Reading program.  However, our PTA also provides the much needed financial support our school needs as well, such as providing each of our classes with publications like Scholastic News, providing assistance with our technology and library staff and investing in our classrooms to ensure that our teachers are equipped with the most up-to-date technology for our students.  Without everyone’s involvement through volunteerism and financial support, our school would not be as strong as it is today, nor as successful. Together we are one voice that advocates for all of our children. PTA membership is $10. It's amazing what $10 can accomplish!

To join the MPE PTA, please contact Erin Anderson!
